A day full of gripping inputs and inspiring innovations – that was the Swiss Innovation Forum 2019.
The fourteenth edition of Switzerland’s leading innovation conference took place on November 21st, 2019 in the Congress Center Basel. The participating personalities from business, science, research, education, politics and the media were made aware of the motto “Try”, namely that constant attempts to fail are not necessarily bad, but can be the way to success.
Exciting contributions from speakers such as robot ethicist Dr. Kate Darling, Youtube genius and entrepreneur Casey Neistat or Innosuisse President and CEO of the Kudelski Group André Kudelski on the main stage delighted the audience.
Another highlight was the presentation of the Swiss Technology Award, which honored outstanding technology-based innovations in the “Inventors”, “Start-ups” and “Innovation Leaders” categories. Dr. Christan Péclat (CEO of the Helbling Group) presented the STA to the SIKA AG innovation team in the “Innovation Leaders” category.

e multi-faceted program was framed by the Future Expo, which had around 40 exhibitors and an integrated networking zone. Helbling Technik, as one of the main partners of the Swiss Innovation Forum, has shown a new wine dispensing system for individual glasses, a scribble robot that uses a pointed pen to create artistic portraits of visitors, and a patient interface for high-precision alignment and secure fixation of the eye during laser treatment. The “newly invented” toilet, which was developed for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, could also be seen live at the booth and was presented in a break-out session by a Helbling Project Manager.
