bamix® Cordless with charging station

ESGE launched the first hand blender "Bamix" in 1954 and since then, a Swiss kitchen can't be imagined without it. Bamix appliances are particularly sustainable thanks to their high quality and exceptional durability. To offer more convenience, ESGE intended to provide a cordless model and continue the success story.

The mission was to develop a cordless hand blender that would deliver the same power as a corded 200 W model. A suitable quick-charging station should provide more user-friendliness and mobility. A modern design with high recognition value was also a goal, along with proven quality and durability.

Helbling was committed to the realization of the client's vision from the concept phase to series production support. The following development tasks have been carried out:

    • Simulation of the drive train
    • Development of cost-efficient electronics with Hall sensor-based BLDC drive
    • Ergonomics and design studies for the device and the charging station
    • Tool-compatible design of the hand blender and the charging station
    • Integration of electronics and battery cells into the preferred product design
    • Supporting the customer in the accreditation of the product

    Outcome

The new "magic wand" offers a weight saving of 300 g compared to the corded version. The runtime is of over 20 minutes per battery charge. Despite the compact size of the device, it outperforms competing devices on the market.
